Weekend update

This weekend we went camping (sort if).  We were supposed to go for the whole weekend but there was a big fire by oak city and the fire restrictions only allowed fires in one area so we ended up only going up Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning.  Hayden loved it of course.  He ran around all day until Matt took him on a four wheeler ride and he crashed creating this pathetically cute picture:)  Of course he woke up as soon as we tried to put him in the tent but he was pretty happy so we didn't mind.  He crashed on the air mattress that night (in the middle of course) and so Matt was kind enough to sleep on the floor of the tent so Hayden and I could sleep comfortably on the mattress.  I was worried I would have to make ten trips to the bathroom but I didn't have to get up once thankfully!  Hayden woke up the next morning and was so happy when he realized we were in a tent!  I want to go again so bad before the baby comes but i'm afraid we might be cutting it a little close.

                                                                           Baby news. . .

36 weeks

It's almost baby time!  I'm thirty six weeks now and the induction date is scheduled for just a couple days before my due date.  (i'm due on a Sunday so we decided to do a couple days early to keep his birthday a little further from the holiday and so Matt can have a longer stretch off work without using up all his vacation)    I'm still praying a go early on my own (doubtful) just because I don't want to be induced.   I had a doctors appointment today and found out I am dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced and his head is nice and low.  Wish this gave ANY indication of anything! Things were so easy with Hayden i'm scared that if we force labor that it will be twice as hard.  Yes i'm a baby, I know, but I really like the idea of a two hour labor and 2 pushes:)  since they usually say labor is cut in half with the second baby. I'm not in a rush to have him or anything.  I actually feel super great.  Better than I did with Hayden even, and I have SOOOOOO much to do so i'm kind of freaking out because I know i'm not going to be able to get it all done.  I mostly just want to avoid his birthday being forgotten/combined with the 24th every year so looks like 3 1/2 weeks and here comes baby ready or not!

Movin on in!

Well we finally closed on our house on Thursday!!! I guess that means we can move in. . . oh wait we already did.  Luckily even though we weren't able to close last Friday, Edge was okay with us moving our stuff in which was a big relief to me since he was leaving on the 13th to go to some training in California for work.  Thank you to everyone who came and helped.  We took two truck loads full down on Friday night and were able to move everything else out of the apartment and into the house in about three hours.  Record time!  Not closing still put a few kinks in our plans but we're managing! We couldn't order our appliances until after we closed so Hayden and I have been lucky enough to get to use a cooler as a fridge for the past few days.  Luckily we can pick it up Saturday and make our lives a whole lot easier!  We also don't have a washer and dryer until the 20th I think.  We've been able to do laundry at our apartment while we were cleaning until today when I locked the door for the last time and left the keys.  As far as apartments go I don't think we could have found much better to live in for 6 years but i can't say that i will miss the tiny living quarters and no yard and I know Hayden won't!  It just about killed me to clean that place though!  I never want to clean another wall or base board again! It's too bad I wasn't closer to my due date because I'm pretty sure that would have sent me into labor.  Thankfully my mom was able to come help me a couple times to get it over with quicker.
Unpacking has been as expected. . . a nightmare!  How do I decide where to put everything???  I finally just started throwing things in cupboards and closets and decided I could organize as I go.  There's so many things we need I can't even believe it!
Hayden seems to be adjusting well.  He was a little confused at first.  We would tell him we were going home to the house and he would say "house not home".  He wasn't mad or sad or anything.  He was just confident that the house was not called home.  After a few days I think he got it and now he says "house is home not apartent".  It's pretty funny listening to him explain everything to us like we don't know what's going on.  He's loving being able to be outside more.  We will open the garage door and he drives his little four wheeler up and down the driveway for as long as we'll let him.  I can't believe how good he has been about not going in the street too!  At our apartment the first thing he would do was bolt to the road but he has been so good here.  Even if his ball rolls in the road he will come get me to hold his hand so we can go and get it together.  I won't pretend that he hasn't had a few hang ups but I don't think they have anything to do with moving because he started doing them before we moved.  He randomly decided that he needs to fall asleep in our bed now and then we have to move him.  I'm really hoping that when we get his new bed he will think it is super awesome and we won't have to make him go to bed in his own bed.  Other than that he seems to be doing just fine!
Hopefully someday I will get things decorated so I can post pictures but I'm not sure I would count on it!  So much to do in the next four weeks and I don't even know where to begin!

Catch up

Lazy me I'm finally catching up on the past month or so.  We went to Delta for Easter and Hayden had a blast hunting for eggs! The weather turned out so nice and he loved being outside.  I'm pretty sure he saw more candy than he has ever seen in his life and I probably ate more candy than I've ever eaten in my life!  He was pretty excited to do the Easter egg hunt but as expected he wanted to open each egg he picked up right away which means we got a grand total of. . . 6 eggs.

Aunt Jaclyn came to support him in his quest

He was so mad he had to wait for the Easter egg hunt to start

opening his Easter basket

Easter egg hunt at grandma's house

I'm not sure why but he decided it was safer to put his candy into Bryce's bag than his own basket. Apparently he doesn't trust us!

trying to open the eggs he picks up with his mouth

A couple weeks ago we were at our house working on stuff and Hayden took a tumble into our concrete steps:(  He had quite the scrape on his cheek.  I was so scared of how upset he was going to be when we washed it out but he actually did pretty good.
After washing it out

The next morning.  I knew it was going to be worse in the morning but i wasn't expecting quite this bad.  This was a few hours after he woke up and some of the swelling had gone down.  He couldn't even open his eye at first but he was still smiling!  You would not believe the stares I got when we went to costco!  People don't even try to hide the fact that they were looking at him and then glaring at me like I was some kind of child abuser!  I felt so judged!  I mean what did they think I did??? punch him in the eye and run a cheese grater across his cheek?!! It's obviously road rash!  Luckily it has actually healed a lot better than we expected and hopefully won't scar too bad so I shouldn't get dirty looks for  too much longer hopefully.
On our way to Delta!  When Hayden knows we are going to delta he talks the whole way down about all the people (and dogs) we are going to see.  He will just sit and babble and say "Gamma's home, Bella's home, Jason. . . cycles, Pocket home, Daisy sleepin"  He likes to talk about where everyone is.  Usually people are either working or home and the dogs (daisy and Bella) are sleeping according to him and whenever he talks about Jason he remembers that he has a motorcycle so he says cycles.  And in case you are wondering who pocket is. . . that would be grandpa.  Anytime we ask him to say grandpa he says pocket and anytime he sees one of his grandpas or asks for them it is ALWAYS pocket.  We have no idea where he got this from but it's pretty hilarious!
Riding Jason's mini chopper with dad.  he loves this thing!  He also loves riding in Jason's "cart" (golf cart)

Last but not least. . . 30 weeks!  Try not to stare at my disgusting counter or at the lowest baby bump in History.  I' carried Hayden the same and I'm wondering if I will ever have a "normal" looking bump.  I went to the doctor at 28 weeks and everything  appears to be super great!  My glucose test came back and I am apparently very not diabetic, Carter's heart sounded great and I guess I am measuring about a week and a half ahead. (wish that meant I would go early and praying it doesn't mean we're in for a big baby!)  Either way this little man will be here in less than ten weeks whether he likes it or not!  (Matt is all for giving him and early eviction notice.  I'd rather not but I'm guessing that as time rolls on and my patience and comfort dwindle that the idea might sound more enticing)

I'm super excited to post some pictures of the progress on our house soon!  My dad, brother, and Matt worked their tales of all day every day from Saturday until Tuesday and tiled our kitchen, dining area, two and a half bathrooms, a laundry room, and an entry way!  Now that's impressive!  I don't know that they will ever want to lay a tile again (or see our house:) but we are so grateful for all that they did.  There's NO WAY we could have done it without them!  I love how our tile turned out!  They have the black stuff all over the house so they should be doing the stucco Thursday or Friday and the guys that do the finish work will be starting either Thursday or Friday too.  This is what I'm most excited for! All the fun stuff is starting to happen and it's actually looking like a house!  We're in the home stretch!  Not looking forward to cleaning our apartment but I'll clean in a hundred times if it means i get to move out!:)

House update!

Finally I got the computer to work long enough to do an actual post on our house!  I'm so excited to have a house I can't even stand it. (literally I can't stand being in our apartment any longer and we leave just abut every chance we get!)  It feels like it is taking forever but the build time start to finish is only 96 days and we are on day 29 so I think I may just being a little dramatic:)  I can't believe how fast everything has gone since they started framing and they were actually set back by a couple days of bad weather!  I think they started framing on the 9thish or somewhere around there and are now finished. (except for a couple small things that they can't finish until more wood is delivered but I'm guessing that will happen tomorrow.  We went down tonight and were surprised to find that they had put in windows and even had our shingles on!  I didn't get any pictures before they started the upstairs because the weather was crappy so we didn't spend much time there other than to look around really quick.  All of this was done in less than a week so of course we had to go down almost every night just to see what they had done that day.

can't believe how different it looks with the roof on!

I was so happy when they put the stairs in so I didn't have to boost myself in. (or worse, have someone else boost me in!)  They also got the stairs going up and down in and we finally got to see what our upstairs would look like!

Finally they finished the roof on the garage and surprised us when the windows were in and the roof was shingled!  It's so much warmer now that the windows are in! If only they would put the sliding door in the back to keep the wind out!

My dad and his wife were nice enough to come up last week and we were able to find the tile we will be using! I can't believe they will be laying the tile in about 3 weeks!

Not a super great picture but these are the exterior colors.  The stucco is a little darker than I think maybe I want now but oh well ha ha! I'm sure it will be fine (I hope:)  The lighter one is our trim and the other ones are the shakes, rain gutters and that jazz, and the garage door and the chunk of wood is what color my precious wood door that I'm so excited for will be!  Hopefully everything pulls together when it's all done.

The plumber will be starting the rough in plumbing tomorrow and Matt will start his HVAC on Wednesday and will be busy with that all week.  I'm not sure what else will be going on the rest of this week but the weather seems like it should be good so hopefully a lot gets done!

Moving Along. . .

Here we are in April already and things are moving right along.  Baby Carter is now 25 weeks and seems to be growing like a weed or at least I am. (Easter candy is probably 90% to blame for that though!)  I forgot how much they start to grow right now and he has conveniently stretched himself into my rib cage making bending a little more awkward but luckily not necessarily painful quite yet.  I did my glucose test last week. I forgot how delightful that stuff is. . . NOT.  It's been a week and I haven't heard anything so i guess i can assume no news is good news right?

25 weeks.
This picture doesn't really do it justice but it was the best i could do with my junky camera phone.  I've been feeling pretty bloated the last couple weeks but i know most of it is because of the large quantities of junk food I eat.  I feel so out of control with my sweets cravings with this baby and it's totally new to me because i wasn't a big fan of sugar when i was pregnant with Hayden.  Hopefully soon I can get a grip on myself!

We had a great Easter weekend! (i will post pictures later) It was so nice to be able to be outside finally and spend time with the family especially my sister that moved away this morning:(  I've been trying to prepare myself.  I cried a lot of the way back from Delta last week and then last night I cried some more and then of course when they left our apartment this morning i bawled again.  I;m going to miss them soooo much.  I've tried to convince her to move in with us after our house is done but she isn't going for it:(  We have grown so close since they have been living in Provo and we haven't gone more than a couple days without seeing them since they moved here.  Hayden would be crushed if he really even knew what was going on.  He's pretty attached. (to the point that when he is mad at us because he got in trouble he starts yelling out their names to come save him)  The worst part is when I think about how close are babies are going to be and not be able to spend time together after they are born.  I really hope it works out for them but I hate not having them close to us.

Happier news. . . our house is moving right along too!  I was pretty upset about the weather last Friday since a blizzard hit Spanish for and prevented them from framing that day:(  but today was perfect so we now have the framing done in our basement and main floor.  YAY!!!  I'm sure they will be doing the upstairs tomorrow.  I can't wait till they have the stairs done going up and downstairs because this whole climbing into our house thing is not so easy at 6 months pregnant especially since the baby is so low and likes to make it difficult for me to get myself into the main floor of our house. (yes i know it sounds crazy that our main floor is high enough to make it difficult to get up into)  The water level is too high where our lot is so they weren't able to dig the basement very deep so our main floor is pretty much the same height as our neighbors upstairs.  Matt should be starting the HVAC this week so it's going to be busy for him for the next little bit.  I feel pretty bad because he hurt his neck/back at work last week and is pretty much crippled but there's nothing he can do because he has to get it done and don't worry he went to the doctor today and of course when he needs it most the doctor wouldn't give him and pain medication.  I don't know how these drug seekers get so many meds when someone who is really needing them can't get any!  We are just praying it starts feeling better soon so it doesn't kill him this week but at least he will be close so me and Hayden can bring him lunch and Hayden can "help" on the house.  We got him a pail and a shovel to take with us because he likes "workin" just like daddy.  He also has some little tools i need to remember to take with us.  He loves going down to see the house and all of our friends.  It's been so fun for us to be able to go down and visit our friends so much. (they're probably sick of us dropping in but i'm excited to live so close!)  I will take some pictures tomorrow and post them before too much changes!

Sniff Sniff. . .

Today was a sad day at the Bunker home (mostly for me).  I put Hayden down for a nap and proceeded to clean things up just like any other normal day.  Little did I know this was not a normal day.  Today my life would change forever.  After about a half hour I was walking past his door and heard a thump and then a few seconds later the door knob turned. . . NOOOOOO!  Then out walked a tiny tot who started giggling and saying happily "I no night night! I get out mommy!" over and over again.  And that is when I knew that my beautiful two hours of blissful nap/clean/craft/reclaim my sanity time was probably a thing of the past.  There's no telling what the next few weeks of Hayden's first big boy bed will bring. Only time will tell.
Yes, I know, this all sounds a little dramatic but it's the truth!  I'm so scared this stubborn little sweetie will never nap again! (besides the occasional day when he gets to the point of exhaustion where he puts himself down for a nap which doesn't happen very often)  I knew this day was coming.  We were actually talking about what we should do with the whole situation yesterday in fact (since we will be needing the crib for someone else when we move) but I just wasn't planning on making up my mind about it 12 hours later.  I guess that answers the when question!  Now I just have to figure out the  "how".  How to get Hayden to take a nap in his bed.  How to get him to go to bed at night.  How to get him to stay in bed at night when there's not crib bars holding him there.  Oh boy this should be exciting!

Weekend getaway

This past weekend we took a trip to St. George to watch the air show with the blue angels.  The weather wasn't as pleasant as I hope for when we take a trip there (of course it's 15 degrees colder and decides to rain when we go down) but we still had fun and for as bad as the forecast looked we really lucked out.  Matt's grandparents have a house there so we were able to stay with them (not that we would have been able to get a hotel if they didn't live there!)  Hayden had fun playing with "gamma" and he LOVED seeing all the airplanes.  I can't believe how many people were there!  We heard that EVERY hotel was sold out over a month ago because of the air show and baseball tournaments.  Crazy!  We were nervous about the drive (Hayden does not enjoy riding in the car and we haven't gone farther than delta since we got rid of the binks) but he did so great!  He fell asleep on the couch for 5 minutes before we left but i was still hopeful that he would sleep at least a little on the way down. . . Nope.  He stayed awake the whole time but surprisingly didn't throw any fits!  He sat and pointed out every vehicle we passed telling us what it was and played with his cars and watched a movie.  He was super good the hour we were in the car before and after the air show (the line was so LONG) and he slept the whole way home from St. George to Orem! He never does that!

Hayden as we pulled into the air show and he started to see the planes. Love this little man!

Love this face.  He was so happy to watch the planes out the window.

He squealed about the planes the whole way!

I can't believe how huge these planes are.

playing with his cars and new plane souveneer we got him

crazy helicopter/plane. it can switch back and forth

blue angels

matt and my grandpa being twins.  they chit chatted the whole time. it was so cute! sometimes i think matt is an old man trapped in a 28 year old body

He was sooo good during the almost five hours at the air show.  He sat with us in our little cramped spot and played the whole time and was so tuckered by the end that he fell asleep before we could even get him to give up this bottle.  Can't wait for another little family weekend outing!  I can't seem to handle being stuck in our apartment any more and this was just what we needed!

Of course I have to do a house update to announce that. . . our house has finally started!  They dug our basement today and things will move very quickly from this point on.  Can't wait till June when we get to move in!
